The United States Army Officer Candidate School, now located at Fort Benning, Georgia, was created to train, educate, assign and commission qualified, principled leaders for the Army. To qualify for training at the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School, applicants must either be non-commissioned officers in the U.S. Army or civilians who have earned a four-year college degree.
U.S. Army Officer candidates attend 12 weeks of training, providing the student with a framework to build on as a unit commander. Officer candidate classes provide training in areas like dealing with emotional and mental stress as well as tactical training procedures.
